Data sources and attribution
Tsawwassen.com builds its data pages from sources it is licensed to use, and it credits each one the way that source asks. This page lists them. Sections of the site open one at a time, so a source can be listed here before the section that uses it has opened. Any page that shows data from one of these sources carries the same credit.
OpenStreetMap
Used for places and their locations: the point behind each directions link, and the store listings for Tsawwassen Mills and Tsawwassen Commons.
Credit: © OpenStreetMap contributors
OpenStreetMap data is available under the Open Database License. The store list we derive from it is shared on request under the same licence. Ask through the contact page.
City of Delta open data
Used for the business directory, community boundaries and building-permit counts, from the City's open data site.
Credit: Contains information licensed under the Open Government Licence – Delta.
BC Ferries
Used for scheduled sailings on the ferry pages, from the schedule feed BC Ferries publishes.
Credit: Schedule data: BC Ferries
Fares, reservations, parking rates and live conditions are BC Ferries' to publish. Our pages link to them and don't copy them.
NOAA
Used for tide predictions, from the United States' National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The predictions are for station 9449639 at Point Roberts, Washington, about 4 km from Tsawwassen.
Credit: Tide predictions: NOAA CO-OPS, station 9449639, Point Roberts, WA
The predictions are NOAA's. The way they're presented here is our own.
TransLink
Used for bus routes and timetables on the transit pages, from the schedule data TransLink publishes.
Credit: Route and arrival data used in this product or service is provided by permission of TransLink. TransLink assumes no responsibility for the accuracy or currency of the Data used in this product or service.
Statistics Canada
Used for census figures on the housing page, under the Statistics Canada Open Licence.
Credit: Adapted from Statistics Canada, Census of Population. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product. The page that shows the figures names the census they come from.
Written guides
Guides such as the ferry terminal guide are written from primary sources: the operator's own pages, open data and OpenStreetMap. Hours, fares, rates and sailing times aren't typed into them. Each guide links to the organization that sets those and keeps them current.
